We could learn a thing or two from our ancestors the cavemen. We live in a world today were everything is very convenient. We sit all day, order food that we don't catch or cook ourselves, watch tv and play video games all day. I believe we should mimic some of the cavemen use to do. Think about it when do you see movies, tv shows, or pictures of cavemen that are fat.
I believe in the basics of things and building upon them through constant progression. The thought process of what the cavemen did is they walked a lot to get to places (slow steady state cardio). They Sprinted a lot to catch prey or to run from predators ( High intensity cardio). They Climbed over things in their way ( Body weight movements). They moved trees, rocks, prey they have killed ( compound lifts).
1. Walk a lot or do slow cardio 3 to 5 days a week. Ride a bike go for a family walk play a sport something around those lines.
2. Sprints a few times a week. 1 or 2 days at first then 2 or 3 once you get going pretty good. 5 or so 40 yard sprints or the like
3. Body weight and/or basic compound movements 2 or 3 times a week. Simple basic things like pushups, air squats, chinups, dips, shoulder press, squats, deadlifts.
Start out learning how to control your own body weight and doing basic moves and build upon that as you get better and you are well on your way!
